Sir Alex praise for Bendtner

Speaking at a Danish awards ceremony last night in Copenhagen, Sir Alex Ferguson paid tribute to his former keeper Peter Schmeichel, who was inducted in Denmark's football hall of fame.

"Peter has given me many nightmares and sleepless nights but has also been a fantastic player, a great pro with big ambitions."

The United manager went on to praise one of Arsenal's bright young stars in Nicklas Bendtner, who scooped two awards; Danish player of the year, and goal of the year:

"Nicklas Bendtner is part of the Arsenal team and has proven himself at highest level. It’s no surprise to me that he runs away with the prize."

'We're the best team in England' - Sagna

The Gunners full back believes his side are the top force in the top flight - and thinks the win against the enemy last week proves it. Auto quote insurances:

"It was a great win, on Saturday we showed our fans we are better than them. There was no extra pressure, we worked very hard in training to stay focused until the end of the game.

He added...Auto quote insurances:

"We know if we are focused, we are the best in the PL and we have to keep going that way."

'We'll finish Spurs off' - Fabregas

The Gunners' captain insists his side will not make the same mistakes that saw them concede late in recent games, when they take on the arch enemy tomorrow. Auto quote insurances:

"We all take responsibility in some situations we become too easy and we have to improve that. At 2-0 up we were in control and it should have been finished. We have to do better."

He added...Auto quote insurances:

"We need to kill the opposition off in other ways by passing more and and keeping possession."

10 reasons why We WILL defeat Spurs tomorrow

1 - The obvious, a far superior squad, regardless of what Robbie Keane says, and regardless of what the man's been smoking in order to come out with such a statement - I wouldn't swap the two sets of players in a million years. Wednesday night proved that point.

2 - Games against Alkmaar and West Ham won't have gone forgotten by the players or the manager, the players overall have looked hungry this year - last year they possibly could have fallen further and dwell on poor results, not this year. Two defeats in Manchester reinvigorated the team and those late goals against those sides will too. A wounded animal, and we will bite.

3 - When was the last time they beat us in the league? Can't remember? Yeah, me neither.

4 - We may have goalkeeping problems, but overall Mannone hasn't done all that bad - Gomes has made more shocking howlers and I wouldn't bet against that happening tomorrow. However I have a feeling Almunia will be recalled, and to be honest, it's time.

5 - 4-4! - Last season's sickener will have remained in the back of each of the entire Arsenal staff's minds, and as said before, I see us flying at them in a wave of red from the offset. We were technically superior that day, and we still are, except this time the scoreline will show it once and for all. No late mistakes at the back, and I can see us tearing them apart.

6 - Spurs players and their fans are well renowned for opening their mouths time and time again, before every season even kicks off by insanely predicting 'THIS WILL BE THE YEAR WE FINISH ABOVE ARSENAL AND CLAIM OUR TOP 4 SPOT', yet every year it's the same outcome - We shut them up.

7 - Bentley's playing.

8 - Arshavin's first North London derby, and will be going all out to make an impact no doubt. I sense a big game from him.

9 - 60,000 fans who havent forgotten last year, and will roar the team to victory.

10 - Arsenal are going for the title, Tottenham are dreaming of a top 4 finish, more at stake for the Gunners. It's a match we simply have to win, and we will. I don't always agree with what our Chairman Hill Wood says, but stating Spurs aren't even our rivals is only telling the truth. They've had a good start to the season, but tomorrow there is no doubt, we will be their worst nightmare.

Arsenal chasing highly rated defender

Arsenal are said to be interested in much hyped Italy U-21 defender Angelo Ogbonna, currently on the books of Serie A outfit Torino.

Sky Sports are claiming Arsene Wenger has tracked the youngster for a while now, and could make a move when the transfer window opens, and Ogbonna, is refusing to rule anything out.

"I know exactly what I want and I am not closing the door on anything. My objective is to improve and reach the highest level.

"My first dream has been achieved and I have managed to make my professional debut.

"There will be time to see what the options are with other clubs."

Wenger tells Adebayor to talk to the hand

Arsene Wenger has blanked Adebayor on his claims that Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas could leave them providing the gunners finish out of the top four.

The Gunners boss, as everyone else, knows the bitter frontman is mischief making in an attempt to unsettle Arsenal's consistent form, form which the former gunner is clearly afraid of.

Wenger, said:

"Frankly, I'm not really bothered about what he says, why should I react to quotes that may not even be accurate?"

"What is important for me is that we play well tomorrow. For the rest, we have to live with what people say but it is not really important.

"Nobody knows what's happening next week so why should you speculate or worry about statements of that calibre? They are not anything realistic, it's just talk."
